Stewart Walker
Stundenzimmer EP

1- Stundenzimmer
2- LA River
3- Seamless
Stewart Walker returns with an offering to gently entice listeners out of the darkness of winter. Behind the softness are the insistent beats of life stirring in the frozen north. Sun glints on the ice; water droplets gather into trickles to welcome the spring thaw.
Driven with warm bass and beats, LA River is deep and overlaid with characteristic walker layers of riffing, blue notes and bleeps. Delicate, suspended pockets of air shot through with synthy zaps and gut wrenching harmonies unfurled with impeccable pacing.
Seamless has the fluttering pulse of skipping heartbeats. Overlaid with blue washes and synth phrases, the track builds slowly, stretching ever more tautly between depth and delicacy with dark synth undertones and bright piano notes.
Stundenzimmer is a bucolic spring track. Lilting rhythms and melodica are pulled together with fresh breezes to welcome the blue skies of March and April.
The Stundenzimmer EP is lush funk house that brings together the spaciness of Transmat and the gentle, melancholic emotionalism of Carl Craig's experimental side. The warmth and heart-on-sleeve sensitivity of Walker's approach shines through these tracks - this is handcrafted electronica at its best.
